How to raise taxes in Texas

I couldn't make this stuff up, even by trying!  :smileyvery-happy:

A Republican county emergency- management official in Texas says unrest may erupt if President Barack Obamais re-elected, that the president would respond by sending in United Nations troops, and that he needs more sheriff’s deputies to deal with it.

“He’s going to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the UN,” Lubbock County Judge Tom Head said this week on a Fox News television station in the north Texas Panhandle region. “Then what happens? I’m thinking worst-case scenario -- civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe.”

“We’re talking take up arms and get rid of the guy,” he said. Obama’s response? ``He’s going to send in UN troops. I don’t want them in Lubbock.”

-----------------------------------------

As the county’s chief emergency-management official, Head told the newspaper, he must prepare for worst-case scenarios, which he said included Obama’s re-election and Democrats retaining control of the U.S. Senateand a category 5 hurricane.

“Do I think UN troops are going to be rolling into Lubbock? Probably not going to happen,” he said. “F-5 hurricane? Probably not going to happen.”

Head offered the scenarios as partial justification for a 1.7 percent property-tax increase to hire more deputies and add other law-enforcement resources.   http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-08-23/texas-official-sees-civil-unrest-if-obama-is-re-elected.html

No president of the US has the power to call in the UN Troops. This guy is playing on the fear of people in that area of foreigners.

He probably thinks all the president has to do is make a phone call.. UN troops are only sent to a conflict area, after a great deal of debate and consideration. So, don't worry neighbors. Smiling Canucks and Norwegians will not be patrolling the streets of Texas anytime soon. LOL!! We have better things to do.

This idiot's comments are disturbing on many levels. He is insulting the people of Texas, in that he is saying that they would not respect the democratic process.

He is insulting your country and your resolve to maintain order in your own streets. He is saying that your country is not strong enough; your president would have to call on foreign intervention to keep the peace. This is a country with one of the largest standing armies in the world.

And he is assuming that the rest of us would come running, at the drop of the hat or phone call from Obama, to get involve in an internal American conflict. We wouldn't. We would let you work it out yourselves and would ONLY intervene, if the US was on the verge of complete and total collapse.

You do elect the strangest people, don't you?

Sorry It did not work for you  google UNODA and that shoud take you to the site.  Luckily the US has never signed and probably never will.  But it could happen.  International lawyers can argue that.  It is the could that has people angry.

Your link didn't work.

The idea that Obama would call in U.N. troops to suppress a domestic uprising in the U.S., specifically Texas, is beyond absurd. Mr. Head should errrr........ ummmmmm........ have his head examined!

Unfortunately there is a grain of truth in what he is saying.

Personally sell weapons to who can pay.  One more point the Us military will leave tons of equipment when they leave Afghanistan because it costs too much to ship.  The UN has a very poor record preventing widespread violence.  They can't do it. So they look for ways to make it worse by not allowing one side to arm themselves against their oppressors.

I got a kick from Head's grouping of worst case scenarios. Putting an Obama victory, and Democrats retaining control of the Senate, on the same par with an F-5 hurricane said to me that the man, his law-enforcement "resources", or his constituents (possibly all three!) are screaming yellow bonkers.

Wasn't that ad from a Superpac? If that's the case, Obama had nothing to do with it.

Outright paranoia about NWO crap from people in charge should be news.

Are we going to post everything dumb thing that is said on both sides?

Heck, we have a left wing wack job saying that Romney is resonsible for killing a woman. He's a little higher up in his party than this judge. Idiots like that don't deserve attention.

"Resist, we much. We must, and we much. About that, be committed."
