The CEOs of the Big 3 flew in their private jets to Washington to beg for a bailout. Can you imagine wasting $20,000 on a trip to your local welfare agency to plead your case for help?
This is why I don't see welfare abuse as the biggest problem facing our government when it comes to waste.

Yes, recently (last year)
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....no, but what really cracks me up is that you manage to put it out there that Bush is to blame for the fall of the big 3 also....your thoughts on this one are completely obserd!
I think from a Canadian perspective, Honda is more in line with other non-auto organizations. There are a LOT of companies that only offer single coverage for benefits now (and seeing as we have OHIP, it isn't a huge issue like it would be in the US.) I certainly understand that it can get expensive though - for the first time in our lives, DH and I are both self-employed (read: no supplemental benefits) and I'm having a baby in 5 weeks. There will be some extra costs for us to bear.
As for overtime, I've always been a salaried employee (until last year) who has always had to work overtime (unpaid) when required. That includes evenings, weekends, 12-18 hour days sometimes, travel, and I don't make much more than the average auto worker. It doesn't really strike me as slave labour. A pain? You bet, but it's part of the job and I knew that going in.
Doesn't matter if it's one day or one hour, it was wrong.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure
Well, who gets to decide when the employee VERY CLEARLY broke

It's probably happened as often as unions have gone out on sypathy strike for some guy that's been caught drinking on the job repeatedly.
I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure
