"Why is it wrong for McCain supporters to speak out against Barack Obama supporters when Obama's supporters are speaking out against McCain supporters?"
Show me where - because I dont see that much of it. I have seen a lot of Obama supporters complaining that McCain is wrong about a lot of things, but who is calling him a terrorist? Who is saying that he is trying to destroy America? That and a hundred other things that I have heard about Obama. For the most part, I hear Obama supporters talking about issues - McCain is wrong about Iraq, he's wrong about taxes.... I havent seen the vitriol that I see from some of the McCain supporters here (notice I said some).
"Don't vote for Obama because of your dislike of George Bush. Don't vote for someone based on the color of their skin. You need to vote for someone that you know has experience of fighting for the American people. Vote for someone that doesn't have a mess load of scandals surrounding them. "
I need to... what, vote based on what YOU think is most important (TIC)? I am not voting for Obama b/c of his skin color. I'm not voting against McCain b/c of Bush. I have looked at the issues that are important TO ME and made a decision about who represents my viewpoint. You seem to think experience and lack of scandals is most important. Fair enough. I think that a middle class tax cut, stopping the war in Iraq, and a fair solution to our health care crisis are most important.
Reasonable people can disagree on issues. And I enjoy this board most when we act like reasonable people and talk about issues. But hearing that Obama is a terrorist, a communist, that he has singlehandedly brought down our economy - none of those have a part in reasonable debate (and BTW, I am not talking about you here, b/c your post was very reasonable).

~Calling people stupid, idiot and every other name in the book.~
I think they were just overly-pumped for the speech, so no real harm.
But I always have to laugh when people think that a man with 7 houses and 13 cars is just one of them and gives a darn about them. It happened twice when they elected Dubya ~ a man who happily sent others' children to war in Iraq but never, ever his own daughters. Dubya and McCain are so rich they don't represent them. "Joe Six Pack." lol! Just look at McCain's healthcare proposal. It will help his cronies in the insurance industry make buckets of money but tax every single employee and cause potentially tens of millions of us to lose coverage.
How do you send your daughters to war if they haven't volunteered? The only ones that were sent were the ones that volunteered (like me). We volunteered to do stuff like that and were glad to go.
What would Jesus do? Hang his head and weep, that's what he'd do.
I don't see in the Bible where he merely hung his head and wept when confronted by sin. He said some things about forgiveness, but also:
Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For each one shall bear his own load.
Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:1-10
However the fact that Bill Ayers went on to make drastic public school reform in Chicago schools and improved them, going on to win "citizen of the year" in 1997, and then going on further to work for great philanthropic anti-poverty groups to HELP people, and becoming a distinguished professor and U of Illinois means NOTHING.
As usual, there's much more to the Ayers/Obama relationship that Obama is willing to become know.
