I started a similar McCain thread so I wanted to do the same for Obama. Why do you support Obama? Please refrain from comparing Obama to McCain or posting any anti-McCain remarks. I want to know why you're voting for Obama

I support Obama because he's extremely intelligent. We don't need a leader with average or even above average intelligence, we need someone who is extremely intelligent,I see this in Obama as does Colin Powell who endorsed Obama earlier this morning.

He has a way of uniting people. Everytime I look at one of Obama's rallies it's filled with people from ALL races, this speaks volumes.

He has an even temperment. Obama was steady and calm during the bailout crisis and even came up with the 4 priciples that the bailout needed to have. He is calm in crisis and not erratic, the people need to see this in a leader.

It's time for change, Obama is change personified.

I would have all those things on my list, and then add:

Obama believes that we need to step up and take responsibility for ourselves and our community.

In addition to the other posts, I'd like to add a little on education policy.

Whiel many of my reasons have been posted already....I will put the rest out there....forgive me if I repeat what has already been mentioned. These are not in order of importance.

I support Obama's pro-choice stance.

I support gay rights.

I feel that I am my brother's keeper..and that social programs have done more good than harm in general. I support welfare and other social programs...but I also feel they are in need of serious reform. these programs are important and the abuse of them needs to stop.

I support the reform of social security...not the privatization of social security.

I feel our golbal image has suffered so much in the past 8 years that we need someone who can restore it in the eyes of our allies.

I agree with most of Obama's goals for the country and his plans for his administration.
