I agree that not all the campaign promises (from either side) are going to be able to be carried out over the next 4 years. But I for one wouldn't be disappointed if every single promise wasn't fulfilled as long as we're at least moving in the right direction.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure
Healthcare, not really, I don't think he is going to affect the healthcare I have and I don't think he's going to be able to provide any more health coverage to those who don't have it.

just because it's in a book doesn't make it true.

Can I ask what is it about Barack Obama that scares you?
He didn't say we are going to cut and run from the terrorist but go back to the mountains of Afghanistan.
Health care, he just want everyone to be cover(college student, low income people, kids, and etc.) If you like the health care your employer provide then good. But lets help get the people without some and its not free they will pay. Let us as Americans come together and just do it. I hope we leave the world a lot better then we came in it. Stop thinking about me me me and open your heart.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
i think you meant to address this to the original poster instead of me. i'm not scared of Obama. i am concerned that his opponents are using fear to manipulate voters.
so not directed at you, Nicole, but to the OP:
if you truly agree with McCain's policies as many on this board do - if you have thought it out and studied as many have - then i wholly agree that you should give your vote to him.
but if you let someone scare you with half-truths and fabrications that can't be proved, then you are being manipulated by someone who thinks you are "easy" and not smart enough or motivated enough to check the facts. it has already been predicted and agreed upon by McCain's camp: you will see more ads that try to instill fear in the next few weeks BECAUSE THAT IS ALL THEY HAVE LEFT. they don't want you to focus on policy or issues or experience because they don't think you are smart enough to understand the facts. they don't want you to vote because you agree with McCain; they want you to vote because you are afraid of Obama - for the wrong reasons.
you ought to be afraid that the McCain camp thinks you are that easy - just like Bush did.
I can already tell you what the ads will sound and look like. just say "terrorist" a dozen times. then repeat the same thing with "taxes."
