Ooops, you mistakenly forgot to mention that Ayers was never convicted of a crime and his alleged "association" with Obama involved donating $200 to Obama's 2001 re-election campaign.
And that Ayers is currently a distinguished professor at the University of Illinois

at one point in our history, inter-racial marriage was banned - also known as anti-miscegenation laws. The last anti-miscegenation laws were struck down in 1967 by the Supreme Court ruling in Loving v. Virginia.
how is the prohibition of gay marriage any different than the prohibition of interracial marriage?

LOL now you sound like the Church Lady from SNL.
"Senators John Glenn and John McCain were cleared of having acted improperly but were criticized for having exercised "poor judgment"."
in case you don't read complete paragraphs. i never mischaracterised McCain's excuse. but you wish to ignore the fact he was criticized.
you also wish to ignore the fact that hundreds of elderly adults lost their life savings. i am not defending Ayers, but i am saying a white-collar criminal is a criminal. McCain associated with a criminal. Associated to the tune of $112,000 and several nice vacations. Not the same as a casual acquaintance with a neighbor.
