"Who pays for your insurance?"

I heard something interesting the other day that presidents have been calling for "smaller government" since Reagan.
"If your employer provides insurance, do you know the percent that is subsidized?"

We had good benefits when we were in the military. And the VA USED to help all vets but Congress (including the great "hero" McCain, which is a joke when you look at his record on Veterans' benefits) have been voting away all our Vets benefits. If you were not hurt IN ACTION or at least IN THEATER you can't get VA Medical coverage anymore. Even my FIL who is a Vietnam Vet who wasn't hurt in theater has been affected by this change. When I first got out in 97 I could still get less expensive Dr visits at the VA and $2 prescriptions. After several votes in the Senate turning down funding on VA benefits.. all that went away. People seem to think the VA is a magical place where all former military get free care.. in reality it's a joke.
As for taxes on your benefits.. you're going to be guaranteed to be taxed on them with McCain.. with Obama it's speculation & possibility.
