Are you serious????

This is where we are? The President of the United States makes this quote part of his reelection campaign?

America, if a majority buy into this, and do not reject it, the sun has set on us.

At the moment, it doesn't appear that the Bain argument is working, as Romney's numbers are inching up in most polls.

The authors of the article posted have no credible sources, that's why they didn'[t name them . It was an article full of speculaion confided to the authors by faceless people, who probably don't exist. Well, except for the earth shattering revelation that Romney had attended a celebration with some friends many years ago in Florida.

Why is Romney's wealth suddenly an issue for those on the left. John Kerry is worth some $194 million and paid an effective tax rate of 13% in 2004, but no one on the left had any problem with that. It just seems so hypocritical, to suddenly feign concern about the wealthy not being able to relate to Americans.

Well, I had my breakfast of nails and gunpowder; and a fine dinner of IEDs and RPGs.  So, yeah, I'm great.

You'd have to ask the AP reporters who their sources were, and I'm not one of the sources nor one of the reporters.

As for the drumbeat of Bain, be careful what you wish for.  There's peril for Romey in parading his wealth and the "creative destruction" of jobs and companies when the nation he wishes to lead is toiling to find a way back to economic health after a devastating bout of ....... wait for it ......... chicanery in investment banks and companies; and subsequent major job loss.

Racism isn't a "card".  In some quarters, it's a nasty fact and not always one which is limited to African Americans.  http://www.latimes.com/news/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-soldier-suicide-court-martial-20120724,0,149250.story

You may not personally be influenced by another's ethnicity but make no mistake, that doesn't mean all U.S. citizens are pure as driven snow when it comes to bigotry, racism, and hate-based prejudice.

I have no idea what "spits" you refer to.

From Richard Cohen of the WaPo:   http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/richard-cohen-the-secret-in-mitt-romneys-tax-returns/2012/07/23/gJQAVwbI5W_story.html

To paraphrase Rhett Butler, I don’t give a damn if Mitt Romney releases more of his tax returns. I expect to learn nothing from them, aside from the fact that he is very rich and has paid less in taxes than he has acknowledged. He has probably taken advantage of all the loops and dodges in the tax code, piling trusts on top of trusts, securing wealth for Romneys yet unborn — gelt unto the third generation, little taxed, slightly taxed or taxed not at all.

“Let me tell you about the very rich,” F. Scott Fitzgerald once wrote. ’Scuse me, Scotty, let me tell you about them: They don’t pay much in taxes.

......................................cut....................................

It’s impossible to know what Romney is not revealing. But it is instructive to contrast him to his father, George, who was an auto executive and governor of Michigan. When George Romney ran for president in 1968, he released 12 years of income tax returns. But he was essentially salaried — his remuneration set either by statute or by a board of directors — and so really he was divulging little. Maybe more important, he actually made something (cars) or did something (governed). His son not only manufactured nothing but earned his wealth the new way — by financial manipulation, leveraging and such. On paper, it could look ugly.

For Mitt Romney, there are no assembly lines, no factories or mines — just back offices and computer terminals and such esoterica as the infinitesimal difference between what the Libor rate should be and what it is. He was loyal to no company, no industry — just to his investors. The making of such money is concealed, based on the exotic manipulation of numbers and the disregard of people. Only a relatively few know how to do this sort of thing, and they don’t much like to talk about it. Romney, as we already know, is one of those people. He hides his taxes not because it would reveal anything new about him, but because it would reveal what he has always known about us: We’re suckers.

As Cohen notes, Romney's tax returns are likely to be a jolt to the average (and tax paying) middle class citizen.  During a time of economic duress, they may well look at him not as a seasoned leader and man-of-the-people, but as an alien.  Where are MIB when you need 'em?!

I hope he keeps hiding his taxes, too.   People are really going to start asking themselves what else he's hiding.     Like how many Swiss bank accounts he has,   what he's covering up in the Cayman's.

This whole "Birther" thing is almost comical.   Obama's parent's were brilliant.   Placing a birth announcement in the paper right after his birth.   Then let's not forget the Dr. that delivered him.   Telling an author about Obama's birth to a fellow golfer that day he was born.    Let's also try to convince ourselves that the Obama's bribed the whole DVS in 1961 till present time.

Romney was born in Mexico.   George that is.

If it's a matter of National Security, I don't give a hoot about what's in the records.

A few years back, I want to say 2004-2005, a couple of Columbus undercover cops followed a trail that went to New Jersy.  Sorry can't remember the whole thing.  But anyway they busted these guys for diamonds and for gun running, To Mexico.   Turns out they were undercover FBI.   So when one pulls up the carpet, they better be prepared for what crawls out.

Romney is hiding too much.  If it were Obama.....well you know the rest

The racist card needs to stop.... I don't like this president and I certainly don't think our country is safer or better in the four years he's been in office, The spits at his oppenent tell me he can't run on his own record either... I remember there being small talk about Colin Powel running for presdient in 2008, Condeleza Rice's name has been tossed around as a possible running mate.  It has nothing to do with skin color, There are lots of great politicians out there, Obama isn't one of them.

I think the Romney campaign needs to link the "you didn't build it" quote with the "spread the wealth around" quote. The two together are very telling IMHO.
