I'm done with her

Well, I am not defending Sarah Palin anymore. I have tried to be neutral. I have suggested that if she did a good job the next 4 years in Alaska, that she might be a great Republican candidate. But after her attacks this week, I am done. When I hear interviews with people leaving her rallies saying they are "afraid" of Barack Obama, saying they were on the fence before, but now they are "terrified" if Obama elected. More and more people are calling him a terrorist. We've seen these changes on this board this week.
She's either an idiot, or she is content to lead with fear and further fracture our country. If she believes that for a second that Obama has a terrorist agenda, she's a dummy. I don't think she believes it, however. I think she is just throwing out the insinuations, letting people connect the dots, and come to the most vicious of conclusions. I've heard her lastest battle cry referred to as "red meat" speeches, where she is throwing raw meat to the savage dogs to work them into a frenzy, throwing chum in the water to stir up the sharks.
I can take this kinda crap from Hannity or Rush or Savage or any of the others. But she is trying to be the VP - NOTHING about her this week has been either Presidential or remotely classy. Will she use this same language about world leaders? Will she say the same about our Secretary of State when they meet with "unfriendly" leaders? Did Colin Powell or Condy Rice "pal around with terrorists"? They have certainly met with some of the most controversial leaders in the world.
I won't defend her any more. I will not, as a Republican woman myself, support her if chooses to run on '12. I will leave her to the dogs and let them attack. I am ready for REAL change, and this type of race baiting, this type of insulting, unpatriotic dialogue about a STANDING US SENATOR, is beyond insulting. I'm disappointed in her, in myself for supporting her, and this morning, as I listened to part of her speech, I actually threw up in my mouth a little. Her words, her tone, and the response she created was disgusting. I am done with her.

humor is difficult to discern in a flat medium. especially when there is so much on this board that is not humorous but is downright hateful.
you asked where i would like references, so i will comply --

i am familiar with the facts around Ayers' past activities and his statement to The New York Times but i would like a reference to support that he is currently involved in terrorist activities. because when you label someone "is a terrorist" that implies a static state - as in once a terrorist always a terrorist - and i would like to know what he has done lately to warrant that label.
my analogy is: if a person ever smoked pot, using your language she would always be a pothead - as in once a pothead always a pothead -for the rest of her life. or if a person was a philandering party boy, using your language he would always be a philandering party boy. i recall a thread about how much McCain had changed and how we should focus on that instead of his wild past, so i wonder if the same dispensation applies to other people on the political scene - are they allowed to change as well?

Obama has stated he associated with Ayers: "This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who's a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He's not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis." They interacted for 2 reasons: 1) they live in the same neighborhood, 2) they had the common goal of improving their community - thus served on the Woods Fund and CAC.
please provide support for your implication that Obama chose to associate with Ayers due to some political/philosophic reason other than the apparent one of concern for the community.
i'm tired too so i'll stop there.

And all the "weather" related events you listed later in your post happened 20 years before that even. I'm not in anyway supporting the actions of the Weather Ungerground, however, sometimes if you want to actually get something to happen, you have to work with people you don't agree with.
I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure
>>I disagree with a man that is going to participate in, promote, or recruit others to engage in
<<I haven't seen "most" republicans using scare tactics. I actually haven't seen any using scare tactics so a link would be appreciated.>>
No links are necessary, one only needs to look at some of the posts on this very board (particularly the "If Obama wins is anyone else afraid?" thread) to see that scare tactics and fear mongering are being used. And it just makes me sick. I don't care about the candidates' past associations - and I mean that for BOTH

This is what Ayers said about the bombings on Sept. 10,2001. "I don't regret setting bombs" and "I feel we didn't do enough", and, when asked if he would "do it all again" as saying "I don't want to discount the possibility."
If Ayers was dead and the only issue was that Obama had walked past the statue that Ayers blew up then I'd agree with you. You can't compare Vogler being dead to Ayers being alive, being completely unremorseful, and being directly Obama's friend. I'll say it yet again, if Ayers is such an upstanding guy and there is no problem with being a friend with a guy like Ayers then why does Obama lie about it?

How is he directly Obama's friend? You have said numerous times that they are "friends" but how exactly do you define a friendship? I'm not trying to nit-pick but there is a BIG difference between being acquaintances and being friends.

Vogler said some things that you don't like but he has been dead for 15 years, the Palins are not responsible for what he said. You said yourself that you do not know why Vogler felt the way he did. The info is in the AIP website if you care to be informed before you pass judgment.

I don't fear Obama. I don't think he's a terrorist. I do think his relationships with people like Ayers and Wright and Rezko are important. The lies that he has told about those relationships are important. It speaks to Obama's lack of character, judgment, and honesty. I happen to think those qualities are important in the person that I would choose to put in charge of this country. I think everyone who casts a vote in this election needs to be aware of those things and make an informed decision. If Obama had openly and honestly answered questions about his relationships I might feel differently. I'll never know because he didn't do that he instead chose to lie.
