Is it over for Rick Perry?

This seems to be the topic of conversation today everywhere I surf. Did Rick Perry do himself in with his gaffe?
Rick Perry 'oops' debate moment: Has it done him in?Rick Perry floundered during Wednesday night's GOP presidential debate and has analysts wondering if it's all over for his campaign. Some financial supporters are having second thoughts.

I do not find Perry having a "brain freeze" in the debate nearly as disturbing as his behavior in the New Hampshire speech. If I were a supporter, I would be more concerned he would act like he did in the clip below during a debate with Obama. Given both of these, I do think he is done.
What is it with Texans that they find these folksy photogenic fools and elevate them to the office of governor? I just do NOT get it.
Not a spoof, it has been in the news. I think it was speech couple weeks ago. You can google it.
I do like the way Perry is able to laugh at himself about the brain freeze in the debate. I think it is important that we can laugh at ourselves.
We had eight years of a Texan with similar characteristics and his tenure of office was an unmitigated disaster for the nation. Whether one subscribes to the "Bush as puppet for Cheney" model, or the Bush as "unitary war president" scenario, the man was an arrogant, posturing, sometimes-jovial-but-fumble-mouthed idiot.
Not over, it's a minor thing and plenty of time to go.
Look at the gaffe's Obama made, and continues to make as president. I don't remember any big deal when he made the "57 states" comment, much worse IMO. Perry just couldn't remember a name, which many people can relate to.
"Resist, we much. We must, and we much. About that, be committed."
If the arrogant buffoon who serves in that office now, who had no history of running anything...and still has no history of running anything successfully, other than a campaign full of half truths,
Wow, this captures GWB perfectly, bless his heart. Except that I'm not sure he's arrogant so much as "entitled".
Ummm, well, no....sorry but it doesnt capture GWB.
You see:
GWB is not serving in that office now.
GWB did have, prior to serving in the office of President, a history of running something.
