That's NOT what they're trying to do at all.

All it says is that you have to allow the opposing viewpoint to be heard on your show when discussing controversial subjects

I know you weren't talking to me but it just bugs me that there has to be this balance. For some reason the Left has had a tough time being successful with Radio whereas the Right has been successful... and for some reason that's not fair? That sounds so silly..

They don't want to silence it - they want opposing sides represented - and only during controversial subjects

I don't understand it though, Jen. If the Left wants opposing views.. they can have their own radio shows? It just seems more that they are frustrated with the likes or Rush, Hannity, Levin that they don't want them to monopolize the air waves. I know Al Franken tried Air America and I believe it didn't do well for whatever reason but they can still have their own shows

In order to air a show you must have permission as well as funds through large monopolized corporations.

Hmmmm...well let's see. Conservative talk radio. I would guess pretty much EVERYTHING on the program would be considered to be controversial to liberals; therefore, a liberal voice would be expected to be there at all times?!

Yeah...me no likey. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

The funniest thing about this to me...is we could give a RIP about what libs talk about on their programs (the very few that are left that is...hey...have they gone completely broke yet?). I would happily wager and say that 99% of conservatives would just as soon eat a bowl of bugs as to have to listen to the drivel discussed on liberal talk shows.

Exactly...this whole 'thing' is a bunch of cry babies who are going to FORCE people to play with (listen) to them. Whether we like it or not.

Like I said...this will NEVER NEVER NEVER pass.

Conservatives will stand up like we did with the amnesty travesty. This is complete horse dookie.

I'm a flaming liberal, and I've got no problem with conservative talk radio; it is a form entertainment for certain segment of the population. Have at it and enjoy.

I read The Nation, I check out NPR, Salon, DailyKos on the 'net though I read NYT, WP, McClatchy, BBC, and CSM for actual new reports. Is it completely fair and balanced? Probably not, but I'll safely say that it is more fair and balance than any talk radio program. I have no interest in listening to any liberal pundit, either. Jon Stewart's the exception, but he's a comedian not a pundit.

So, yes, I consider myself more informed than one who primarily gets the news from talk radio and TV MSM.
