That is such a complete load...you know it and I know it. Actually, I'm afraid you don't know it. And that's scary. It's quite obvious your information came from
My understanding of this situation is that the liberal shows fail miserably, so they get shut down. Meanwhile, the conservative shows are thriving, with no competition because the liberal shows suck so bad they can't stay on the air. So now, since they can't manage to keep any of their own shows, they want to invade the conservative ones.
Equal opportunity. If the libs want their airtime, CREATE A SUCCESSFUL SHOW!!!
I guess it's a good thing that I am not a radio broadcaster, 'cause (despite what Jen says) it's not that I don't WANT to understand....
I thought that a broadcast company is owned by a corporation, not the FCC. That the air time is granted to the company via the FCC authority, but they still have to gain advertising dollars to pay their personalities, their staff, their electrical engineers, etc. In otherwords, if a broadcast company chose to air 50% "conservative" talk show time and then 50% "liberal" talk show (notice, SHOW...not necessarily NEWS), then it has to be financially viable for them do so.
"It is not the right of the broadcaster to determine what the public must hear. "
Well, unless they are forcing you to "hear" it, I'm not understanding how a broadcaster can determine what you "must" hear. Further, it isn't the broadcaster, per se, as much as it is the advertising dollars brought in, advertisers who I am quite sure have done plenty of market research to determine whether or not it is in their company's interest to invest dollars in a given time slot on a given broadcast.

"If they refuse to air you for whatever reason (against their agenda, conflict of interest, etc....), you have no voice."
Or maybe because the show sucks and doesn't get the necessary ratings to support the cost of running the show. WHAT A CONCEPT!?!?
Don't we still have public radio? A PBS version for the AM talk stations??

Where did you hear this one?
Unfortunately, I don't think anyone's listening to you, lol.
