Nancy Pelosi thinks her book tour is much more important than an "up" or "down" vote for domestic drilling.
Congress has shown their lack of respect for the very citizens who elected them to represent us. They do not deserve a vacation this year.
Please contact your Congressman/Congresswoman and tell them you won't stand for the continued shenanigans of this Democrat controlled Congress.
Bring them back in...force the vote.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
"I won't complain, though, since we have NO sales tax, and NO state or local income tax."
Well, that actually explains a lot, really. We have a 7.75% sales tax on everything except grocery food, we pay California state and local income tax, our property tax just went up $50 a month because of a new school bond that was passed (on top of our already insane property tax), when Bob retires his government pension will be taxed (and any income from a new job, of course), and of course we also have our water/sewer/trash that is mandated like Sue's that is going up along with the electric co's rates too.
If I had water/sewer/trash, I wouldn't have a problem paying for it.
Yah, that totally stinks.
I saw on the news last night that the Gov. wants to raise our sales tax by one penny, to help with the budget deficit!

"I saw on the news last night that the Gov. wants to raise our sales tax by one penny, to help with the budget deficit! What do you think????"
Michelle, I have to admit I heard it on the news but wasn't paying attention. Is it to raise it by one penny, or one penny on the dollar?? If it's the former, how do they do that? Just add on one cent at the register? If it's the latter, it's a pretty way of saying it's going to go from 7.75% to 8.75%. Not cool, IMO.
