(CNN) -- Sen. Barack Obama has picked Delaware Sen. Joe Biden to be his running mate, multiple Democratic sources tell CNN.

The longtime Democratic senator was long considered a likely choice for vice president, but the buzz surrounding him intensified after he returned earlier this week from a two-day trip to the Republic of Georgia after Russian troops invaded.

Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, brings years of experience that could help counter GOP arguments that an Obama administration would be inexperienced on foreign policy.

No question whatsoever that Cheney was the PUPPET MASTER and Bush was the puppet.

On experience: Obama seemed darned either way. If he picked someone with little experience, people would be shouting that there isn't any real experience on the ticket. Now that he has picked someone with experience people are shouting look the VP has more experience than Obama. People who do not like Obama will find something to pick on NO MATTER WHAT.

It does neutralize the Iraq issue for McCain, since Biden's son is about to be deployed there. It does neutralize the argument about the lack of Foreign Policy expereince.

Between McCain and Biden, we can come up with equal lists of "unpc things they have said inthe past."

Now, who will McCain choose?

Thanks for the Biden info! I personally think it was smart of Obama to pick someone with experience.
