I agree - this is the first election I've been super passionate about. Yet then again, this is only the second election since I've been a mother and more intune with the world around me as an adult (DS was about a week old last time I voted for Bush, my son will be 4 next month!).
It is good to see so many people caring about it - and this election, no matter what ticket you support - is making huge history on both sides. I think it's a great step forward.
Sorry to jump in here so late but I've read all the posts and have two questions:
Why would anyone be okay with Sen. McCain's involvement with the Keating 5 even if he was only found to have poor judgement. Poor judgement is a problem! And there were only 5 Senators out of ALL of them who went along with this.
And... what is wrong with emotion? As long as it's not personal, I think we should be very passionate and emotional about these issues. This is our country, our children's country!
Lori, just clearing the record that I have NO problem with emotion. Good Lord knows I have my tendancy towards being highly emotional and very passionate. I'm feeling that way about this election and I don't think there's anything wrong with that (and I don't think that there's anything wrong with people who have opposing views from me to feel the same way).
I agree that it seems more people are passionately emotional about this election, which is very weird for me because I have never been more apathetic about an election. For the first time in my life I am not voting for a major party candidate, and it's a weird feeling. I love politics, always have (my first political memory is when I was 8 years old sitting in my family's den watching election results for the Reagan/Carter election), but I feel like no matter which candidate we get this year, it's gonna be a bad 4 years.

NOT saying it doesn't matter though, just sayin'...I hope with age comes better judgement no matter who it is.

That's right, chalk it up to youthful indiscretion.
I never said he DID blame it on lack of age, nor did I.
I said absolutely NOTHING of his age at all - what I did say was after 20 years, I hope ANYONE would have better judgement.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure
