FWIW my son (mentioned above) has a McCain supporter for a teacher. She is teaching them how the voting process works which is what got him interested in the first place. They even had a faux Presidential election in class and yes he is an Obama supporter but has said even tho he disagrees with his teacher's pick, she has the right to vote for McCain just like we have the right to vote for Obama. I was VERY proud of him for saying that b/c it shows he really does get it.

Same here.. I just made the comment to my hubby "gee if we made 250k/yr..." and his response was "we wouldn't live here." o.O And this is upstate NY. o.O

What I said I was proud of him for was understanding that it's ok for people to have different views. That's what he "gets". And whether YOU believe it or not he does.
