The lesser of two evils...

A funny moment from the debates was when Kerry was talking about raising the taxes for those who make over $200,000 and he says, "From the looks of this room, that'll only effect three people (him, Bush, and the moderator)." So, I guess, to him, the audience looked like a bunch of sloppy poor people. How does he know by appearances that someone there didn't make that kind of salary!! LOL. How pompous.

Debates don't mean much to me. The thing about the debates is that neither of them really says anything concrete or anything new, but Kerry says things in a way to make it sound like he does. He's a good debator. But if you listen hard, he's not saying much of anything. And we all know Bush doesn't have a way with words, so he sounded like the loser. Kerry's slick, he "plays" the people. Too slick. Reminds me too much of "Slick-Willy" (B. Clinton)--that fraud.

Kerry knows just what to say to get all the middle class, "regular" people to vote for him. Come on...he's a lawyer and his running mate is a trial lawyer! Our country is a mess because of lawyers. In theory, a good law maker should be a lawyer. But unfortunately greed and power are too intoxicating. Now he may not be a super debator, but at the very least, Bush is not a lawyer. That means much to me.

Kerry is also worth 1 to 3 BILLION dollars! (thanks to his wife. Before her, he was worth 4 million-still a lot)!! Do you really think he can relate to those middle-class, "regular" little-people without all that research that tells him what to say to 'em? He earns 20 million a year on interest alone! Kerry has two huge jet planes, his very own. Bush's family is wealthy, too, but no where near Kerry's level. Poor Bush has to borrow Air Force One planes. Maybe Kerry should give a little more of his cash for government programs rather than taxing me.

I feel Bush has values; he's religious. As important as campaigning is right now, Bush took last Sunday off; Kerry didn't.

Kerry says he's a politician that happens to be a Catholic. Shouldn't that be the other way around?

It's good to have a president who has some morals, not just some scammer who will say anything to get into office. I voted for Clinton, what a scumball! I won't make that kind of mistake again. I don't trust Kerry, he keeps saying he's for truth, that he's telling the truth all the time... but isn't that what liars do? I am definately leaning toward Bush--he's a politician too, so he's not perfect, but definately the lesser of two evils.

You were kidding about poor Bush having to "borrow" Air Force One for campaigning, right???? He's not borrowing it, it's on OUR dime. Any campaign stops he makes, if he makes a speech, it's considered "official business" and is paid for by tax dollars.
I just heard someone else today on another board also say that why doesn't Kerry cough up some of his own money to run the country.......isn't that kind of silly? If that were the case, as I posted on that other board today, why doesn't Arnold give some of HIS millions to help out California, since he's the governor? Isn't that the same logic?

Hmm, the lesser of two evils. I don't think so. Did you know when GWB was governor of Texas a reporter asked him why he never pardoned anyone on death row.
His answer, "Because my Attorney General told me the were guilty."

Um, sir your Attorney General is the one responsible for putting him there in the first place.

And people call Kerry a puppet...right....

And no I don't have a link for the quote. It's something I personally heard him say that has stuck with me over the years.

Well, let's not even get into the scandal of Clinton's pardons. I know Kerry is not Clinton, but with Kerry using Clinton in his campaigning, the comparison is fair game to me. They are too similiar in my eyes.

I'm actually not sure what pardons you're referring to. I was referring to the lack of Bush even considering pardoning death row inmates in Texas.

I am not interested in engaging in any conversations about the merits of Bill Clinton. He's not running for president.

Care to back up that statement with some facts?

Of course they have a purpose.
