we've been having below, a friend send me this which I thought you all might enjoy.
Teacher's Salary
Teachers' hefty salaries are driving up taxes, and they only work 9 or 10 months a year!
It's time we put things in perspective and pay them for what they do…baby-sit!
We can get that for less than minimum wage. That's right. Let's give them $3.00 an hour and only the hours they worked, not any of that silly planning time.
That would be $19.50 a day (7:00 AM to 3:30 (or so) PM with just 25 min. off for lunch).
Each parent should pay $19.50 a day for these teachers to baby-sit their children.
NOW...
How many do they teach in a class, 30? So that's $19.50 x 30 = $585.00 a day. However, remember they only work 180 days a year!!! We're not going to pay them for any vacations.

LOL.
I was not being serious in my previous post. I hope no one took me serious.
Most people would tend to weigh the costs of their educations against their earning potential.
>>>Sounds like hypocrisy to me.
Come again?!
>>>Well, I'll say that the CEO's are getting ahead.
Wow...finally! I wondered how much longer we'd go before you'd bring up those bad ol' CEO's again. They are like Bush...crop up in every discussion on this board.
And we are all in SERIOUS trouble if we start following the friggin' Red Sox...are you serious?!?!
No...I'm with you on that. I don't have a problem with someone getting back what they've put into it. I don't have a problem with that AT ALL!
But if you worked for...I dunno...say an airline for 20 years and then you teach for 10
