MA residents - mandatory insurance

I've seen a lot of posts from people who are bothered by Obama's healthcare plan b/c it makes insurance mandatory for children. MA residents have a unique perspective on this since health insurance is mandatory for all (if I'm correct) in MA. For those living there, how do you feel about the healthcare situation in your state? Would you like to see a similar plan implemented country-wide?

I would say the jury is still out, but the initial results are not promising.

On the positive side, the number of uninsured in MA has dropped significantly.

On the negative side:

Just curious - are you a MA resident?

I'm in MA, and if it makes people feel any better, my insurance hasn't changed at all since the mandatory insurance law passed.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure

After reading your post I would agree that the fine (you stated maybe $300 per ee per year) isn't going to do much to get employers to cover their employee's health care.
