I too was very pleased to see more than just the Catholics defending this. It is encouraging to know that there is still some common sense in this country.

Except the defence is not about religious freedom, it's about power. Mostly white guys trying to keep those dastardly uppity women from gaining sway over their own bodies and making inroads into leadership.

I actually read this morning that there were two women on the second panel that did, in fact, testify. I am hoping she updates her article to state that. Dr. Allison Dabbs Garrett, the senior vice president for academic affairs at Oklahoma Christian University, and Dr. Laura Champion, the medical director at Calvin College Health Services, were two of ten witnesses on the second panel. Now they were opposed to the mandate, so that could be why they weren't listed as females in the article.

This is another round of the culture wars. Common sense, it is not.

Like where were the doctors and medical professionals that believed UHC was the right direction for our country..... Anyway, I'm pleased there are more than just Catholic officials defending religious rights there.

I don't vote based on male/female. I believe that is why so few women make it to the top. Too many people vote based on gender/color/race and not qualifications.

I voted for a couple of women (both of my state sentors are women) I voted for Patti Murry & 3 yrs ago I voted for my govenor Chris G. I am a Dem, so as long the women are Dems I vote for them.

The Jezebel story... excellent! That's a keeper, and the pork thing...now that made me laugh, the sheer ridiculousness met by a brilliant rebuttal.

I don't believe so. She's on the Ways and Means Committee.
