Does anyone in your family have a chronic illness? diabetes, asthma? or cancer? heart disease?
If so, How does self-insurance work with this? If not, how does self-insurance work if these occur?
Yes, they are.
Blah, Blah, Blah...please don't believe everything you read.
I've worked in the medical industry for years and specifically as a practice manager for some of them.
I wonder why we can't take universal healthcare and be better than this then?
What I have a problem with is demanding this out of a person. What I have a problem with is allowing those with less to remain in that position (and even work/make decisions to stay in that position) in order to continue to receive help from those with more. What I have a problem with is the people who have less always claiming the "receiving" position, instead of doing their part to also help with the "giving" position.
I work in medicine, and the one thing that always baffles me is, how people think that those without insurance are the only ones affected? If they get sick and can't seek care, others get sick as well, because disease spreads and knows no economic or social boundaries. A good example of this would be someone who couldn't afford their HIV medication regimen, or antibiotics for TB. Then they become increasingly infectious, and all of us are at risk. The same goes for vaccines. I realize this is looking at the whole issue from the SELFISH perspective of "let's protect me, me, me and my, my, my interests" but let's be consistent here!
There is no truly liberal media with the exception of AIR America. The FOX news, ABC and CNN are right wing media. Limbaugh and his ilk are right wing nut media. The Wall Street Journal is right leaning. MSNBC and CBS has both right and left representation in their editorial area. The New York Times has both right and left represented on the editorial page. CSPAN is excellent and balanced.
