Sorry
mom... go look at their supporters and their staff.
Robert Reich...
The American Federation of Teachers...
It is a liberal organization, just as the Cato Institute is a conservative one.
And this justifies a regressive tax how?
because lower taxes equal more jobs, lower costs and a better living for people.
And, this is where the libertarian utopia comes to an end because it is true that *some* paid less in state taxes.
Thank you for explaining that to me. I have another question though...since you seem to be really knowledgeable. Do you think the flat tax rate would be much harder on those who have little disposeable income...even with the deductions you mentioned.
It all depends on how the flat tax is structured...
For example, let's say there's a flat tax with no exemptions whatsoever - you pay 20% of every dollar earned - that would be harder on lower income people than the current tax.
ITEP is NOT the same as the think tank Cato which sole purpose is to share conservative ideology.

<no jobs.>>
Okay, here is where our basic beliefs are very different.
And mom, I hope that you realize that "nonpartisan" only means it is not directly affiliated with a political party.
ITEP is every bit as focused on an agenda as Cato is.
