I DID -- I spend several hour googling this morning and there isn't ANYTHING on her stands on so very many issues confronting the nation, likely because she's never had to think about them and then comment on them publically.

I don't want his children or mine to go into the military. I know that makes me a hypocrite but every generation of men(and some women)

Funny, you quoted an article in which Palin was asked questions about her opinion on issues such as abortion, terrorism, the war on Iraq, death penelty etc.

"Well I don't want my husband deployed anymore, so you send your and then you'll be authorized to speak on the war,OK"

As someone whose husband has also been deployed more times then I can count over the last 15 years (and who, btw, was deployeed MORE often when Clinton was in office in order to patrol the no fly zones and other sanctions in the middle east) and thus by your terms someone "authorized to speak on the war")...the whole reason I support him while he is gone is b/c he is going so that ALL Americans are authorized to speak on the war and any other issue they deem necessary.

"Well I don't want my husband deployed anymore, so you send your and then you'll be authorized to speak on the war,OK. Just following your line of thought."

Not my train of thought btw. What are you even talking about!! I am totally confused by your posts. First your preaching to us to all get along and all our candidates poop stinks and then you bring that in?? Do you even know what you are talking about? WE are talking about Sarah Palin as the VP nominee. And you are talking about sending my dh to war, hmmm, makes sence. Besides that, I am "authorized" to speak on the war, if indeed I had, because I'm an American. But, I don't want to drag the war into this thread, because the thread is about Palin.

"I can only assume that this obviously hard working and dynamic women cares very much for her family and she must value her children--she had five of them. I had two because I knew it was what I could comfortably handle. That doesn't make one of us more right than the other because if I were her, I might just have five too."

The simple fact of having 5 children does not necessarily mean she values them at all. I have know plenty of women in my teaching career who have had 5 or more children - much more than they could comfortably handle - who did not appear to care a bit about them. Assumptions are dangerous things - if we are to simply accept her as a candidate because McCain felt she was qualified well then I want to know a bit more. But that isn't really the case because there were plenty of people far more qualified. She was picked because she is a woman - make no bones about it. As women we do judge each other all the time - you know it, I know it, and she knows it. Hillary was judged as a mother, a wife, and a politician. Mrs. Palin will have to accept the same fate. If the Republicans want to tout her 'mother of 5 credentials' then they have to accept the fact that MANY women, and medical professionals as well, will find it questionable that she was willing to put herself and her unborn child at risk when she chose to fly to Texas that late in her pregnancy, start labor, and fly home without being checked over by a doctor IN TEXAS. You can't have it both ways - she doesn't win Mother of the Year in my book by going back to work 3 days later either. Sorry, touting her as a mother opens the book - and I don't like what I am reading.

"You aren't "authorized" unless you've actually been there, have seen first hand what is going on over there.

The point was, someone asked where Palin stands on the war - and was told she has a son who is going to be deployed to Iraq, and that was the answer.
