Really I don't know what to think - when I first heard the rumor, from my adult children who are extremely politically involved right now, I really didn't believe it but then someone else emailed me the link and I checked it out. I still don't know what to think, I don't approve of her as a VP candidate, but I hope it isn't true. It would be best for her politically, as well as for her daughter, if it wasn't true. I think if your teenage daughter makes a mistake it is always better to deal with it honestly. Otherwise she lives a life of shame - if you want to be pro-life shouldn't the quality of that life be protected? Living with shame is a lifelong burden. People make mistakes, it is how we deal with them that matters. I can respect someone who learns from their mistakes, I can't respect someone who covers it up and is willing to live with the lie.

Umm, okay. I don't like him either...btw I knew that before you so generously enlightened me... But we were discussing the VP choice. Did you know that it is Speaker of the House Pelosi, who btw is third in line for the presidency, she is not, nor has she ever been a senator.

I didn't read the article but I was thinking the baby was her daughter's for a while know. If they baby were/is her daughter's being honest would be her best bet.

Sorry, I have to disagree.

If that same idea is applied universally, one could also argue that unless you pay taxes, you shouldn't be allowed to speak on the budget, or unless you know someone who's a victim of murder, you can't speak on the death penalty.

It may well affect the creedence others give to what someone says, as to whether or not they have personal involvement, but the notion that you can't speak authoritatively without that connection is false.

First off, you and katieandzachsmom need to read the posts or something. Because, I didn't even bring up the war except to state that Palin's ds was being deployed. And secondly the "authorized to speak on the war" comment came from katieandzachsmom who made the asumption that only those who have btdt can speak on things that effect everyone in this country. And third, my BIL has been there 6 times so far, and I've talked with him about it many times. So, I guess I qualify now don't I.

And, Obama skipped visiting the wounded soldiers to go kiss more foreigners butts. But, besides that, he even admitted the surge is working.

"Simply being American doesn't give you the facts."

When did I say that?? I said it gives me and all Americans the right. Freedom of speech remember?

"And this was brought up, because someone said that Palin having a son who was planning to be deployed to Iraq automatically tells us where she stands on the war.

"Doesn't that statement contradict what you just said in your first paragraph? I thought you have to talk to someone who has been over there to be "authorized to speak on the war"? "

If she hasn't already, she darn well better GET herself "authorized" (since you like that term) because she's running as VP of the US!

I think this is probably the funniest thing I have read in a long time....amusing that you know they are out there digging like crazy for dirt and THIS is the best they could come up with.

Ok, the photo of Bristol that they list as being taken in "late 2007" is *clearly* not taken late in ANY year in AK if you look at the full picture (that they choose, for obvious reasons as their error is so obvious when you see the full picture) that is available here http://gov.state.ak.us/photos/PalinFamily_Outside_v01.jpg
