McCain's attitude towards women

I wanted to share perspectives of two real women out there on why John McCain's dismissal of women's health as a valid reason for late term pregnancy termination was so offensive to so many people.

I'm not saying all disrespect Palin that way, I'm just saying there is a lot of it floating around on the Democrat side right now and I find it disgusting. They send it to me because they know I'm a Democrat and they think I'll agree it's fun. I'm horrified, not laughing.

Unfortunately, with McCain's "air quotes" around "Health" of the mother, he was basically saying that "Health of the mother" can be abused in his mind. Meaning it could be used as a reason "too loosely" meaning using "Health of the Mother" as an excuse to not have the baby. All well and good, maybe in some cases this is true, but in many cases the "Health of the mother" is definately a factor. Say she develops Cancer, needs Chemo, or needs some other surgery or treatment, what will changing the law do? Seriously? do you really want a bunch of mostly men clothed in robes making the decision of your life, or your Dr? will woman be forced to forgo life saving treatment until the baby can be born?

Disrespect of people's politics and records? Are you seeing disrespect in the form of insulting people for their gender and body parts? On the Republican side?

I have only read up on this a little bit, but it seems both sides are concerned over the definition of "health of the mother." On one side they are worried it would be used to broadly, and include mental health, and on the other side that it would be used to narrowly and only apply when the mother was near death.

Obama has made fun of his own ears. If someone was making fun of Palin's glasses or her nose I wouldn't be nearly or as deeply offended as saying she was chosen for her "tits" or or for those sending pictures, paintings and making videos portraying her nude or nearly nude.

Can you imagine the outrage of someone made a porno with an Obama lookalike????? That's nothing at all like teasing him about his ears.

I agree bringing up his middle name was lame, but the only person I see talking about race issues is a Democrat (John Murtha calling us Pennsyvlania's rednecks and racists). They have dug into Palin's religious background as well. That's nothing new when it comes to politics. But the comments about her being selected for having breasts, naked impersonations, photoshop bikini pictures, and attacks on her children and her parenting are not something I've ever seen before.

this is an honest question: are you listening to what is being said about obama?
