What makes her qualified?
" Katie Couric: Why isn't it better, Gov. Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families who are struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries; allow them to spend more and put more money into the economy instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?
Gov. Sarah Palin: That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, we're ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the -- it's got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we've got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that."
If we could leave obvious bigotry out of it, defend this now infamous response to Katie Couric. Please explain to me how this demonstrates an understanding of the economics. Please explain to me how this is in any way a response to the question she was asked. I would love to know. Because this woman could be vice-president, and potentially president, in a time of economic crisis and she knows nothing about economics. I dont know that much about economics and I could have come up with a better answer than that.
As an aside, I love how *some* conservatives paste anyone who disagrees with them as a liberal. I am a liberal, and Zakaria is not one of us. If you had read anything he has written, you'd know he is pretty moderate on most issues.
After watching her Couric interviews, I feel that Palin is clearly unqualified.

I agree with you.
I see - I am prejudiced if I dare disagree with liberal views.
Even though I support Obama I respected McCain but how he's run his campaign and his choice of VP and then the interview last night with Katie Couric....I've lost all respect for him.
I agree with him....I think if McCain wanted a woman VP, there were SO MANY better choices.
No, actually, you are prejudiced because you made 2 references to Islam in a post about Sarah Palin.
I fail to see the relevance of Fareed Zakaria being raised as a Muslim to his opinion about Sarah Palin. I fail to see what Barack Obama's middle name has to do with whether Sarah Palin is qualified to be vice-president. That fact that you apparently do - since you felt the need to mention both - says a lot.
