Interesting prospective from a media insider........
I think the president has always been able to influence the media a bit, but obviously, when you are rooting for one candidate, you have no problem compromising your ethics and integrity to help him along.
Here's an interesting article about Obama's days at Columbia.
Not many students whose grades supposedly were good enough to get into Harvard Law School can say that 400 of their classmates taken randomly don't remember a single thing about him or his even being there. But Barack Obama, Columbia University class of '83, can.
Student Obama spent two years at Columbia after transferring there from Occidental College in Los Angeles. And for all the impression he made on his classmates, he might as well have been in the witness protection program...
...Interestingly, Obama contributed not one signed word to the Harvard Law Review or any other legal publication.
400 people don't remember him at all. Obviously they are all racists, because why else would anyone ask for his transcripts?
"Resist, we much. We must, and we much. About that, be committed."
In the line of work that I am in, an applicant has to supply his transcripts to get a job. A friend of mine, who is in the same field, just took a job with LabCorp and had to have her college transcripts faxed to them before they could hire her, along with her certification. She is a molecular genetics technologist, which is quite impressive, but not quite as important as POTUS.
So the statement, "...after a few years in the workforce, you don't need a college transcript because your work experience shows what you can do...." doesn't apply to every job. Perhaps the office of the president should require a more strict requirement, so that the people can make a more informed choice. What harm can be done by a candidate supplying his/her transcripts and other credentials for the job?
Maybe some don't like him, but that doesn't make him a "political hack". He's is the senior political analyst for Time magazine, Time.com, and MSNBC and serves as a board member on the New Hampshire Institute of Politicss at Saint Anselm College. As I see it, he calls it like he sees it, speaking the truth.
According to The Wall Street Journal, it was 400 of his classmates, those in the same class major, 1983 pre-law and political science, as Obama, which is a much more narrow field than 20,000 students. There is definitely something strange about it, but because the media "does pretty much whatever Obama wants", they'll never press him for answers and we may never know.
Can you imagine if not one person could remember Mitt Romney in school? Do you think the response would be, "So, what's your point?"
Yeah, the media probably wouldn't have any questions about that.
I keep hearing the excuse that no one cares about school, graduate school, etc because it was so long ago. If my memory serves correctly, the left (media) made a huge deal out of a thesis written by Bob McDonnell when he attended CBN University (now Regent University) some 20+ years ago. Hmmmmmm.......I wonder why the double standard?
