Yup, I spelled it wrong, but you knew who I meant. People never spell my name correctly either, no biggie.

Obama didn't have to write a thesis for a J.D. All J.D. students must write a "third year paper," and this explains why it hasn't been archived in the Harvard's library.

"The third year paper is the written work requirement for JD students. This requirement has been in place since 1938. The library holds a very small percentage of them. It is up to grading faculty members to deposit with the Library papers they consider outstanding. The long-standing practice of depositing papers with the library, however, has nearly ceased. Third year papers held by the Library are in the Red Set, an archival collection of works authored by HLS affiliates. To obtain a specific paper, consult the Special Collections Department at the south end of the Reading Room." http://libguides.law.harvard.edu/content.php?pid=75477&sid=656215

No big conspiracy involved. Additionally, I haven't saved one single paper that I ever wrote in college, not a single one. It's not surprising that other people are like me.

The governor of Virginia is not named McDonald.

Actually from the info that is available, no one really knows if he wrote a thesis or not because it's all rather sketchy. Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't. Neither you or I really know the answer to that question and that's a little odd.

"There is a huge difference between the ideas someone holds in their early 20s and someone in their 30s"

Nah...not in my experience.

So far, McDonnell has been an awesome governor. We are happy in Virginia.

Oh, and besides completely missing the point (probably intentionally),  nobody said anything about requiring a college education to be president.

He's the president, I don't see anything wrong with him clearing up a few things, if it's not too much trouble.

We know that Obama does not have a pitiful Master's thesis because he never had to write one, though Michelle's is available from the Princeton library. His undergraduate work, true for undergrads all over (thank the lord), is not saved for posterity by universities.

Obama wrote the "thesis" when in his early 20s, and not at the beginning of his political career at 34 like McDonnell.

I have 2 Master's thesis available to all interested. One is quite good, if I do say so myself, the other is absolute garbage. Both were well-accepted in my program. One I wrote at 22, the other at 28, life experience made a world of difference in quality.

There is a huge difference between the ideas someone holds in their early 20s and someone in their 30s.

As to Obama's thesis being about Soviet nuclear disarmament, I'm for nuclear disarmament and Obama apparently is as well based on his actions as president. What do I care what he wrote in his early 20s when I have evidence of what he thinks now?

With regard to McDonnell, it appears, based on his actions as governor, that his views haven't changed. That's what's important to me.
