Meet the new boss, same as the old boss

From the AP

President-elect Barack Obama's aides have privately asked senators whether Washington attorney Eric Holder would be confirmed as the next attorney general, according to a person involved in the talks.

The talks suggest that Obama is deeply interested in Holder, who served as the No. 2 official in the Justice Department under President Clinton.

In the past week, Obama aides have asked Senate Republicans whether they would support Holder. In particular, the aides questioned whether Holder's confirmation would be delayed because of his involvement in the 2001 pardon of fugitive Marc Rich by President Bill Clinton.

For all those who thought Obama was a "different kind of politician", seems he's just the same old politico in a new suit...

Yeppers... "Change"... "Hope"...

What's your point - wouldn't it only be prudent to reasonably determine a candidates possibility of being confirmed before nomination - yep change not wasting time and effort in nominating someone who doesn't have a snowball's chance of being elected.

The "point", simply stated is that all through the election campaign, we were told, ad nauseum, that "Obama is a new kind of politician, he's different..."

And what we see so far is that he's nothing more than a retread of the Clinton administration... Rham Emmanuel as Chief of Staff,

"I'd take Clinton's economy over this one any day."
