Meet the new boss, same as the old boss

From the AP

President-elect Barack Obama's aides have privately asked senators whether Washington attorney Eric Holder would be confirmed as the next attorney general, according to a person involved in the talks.

The talks suggest that Obama is deeply interested in Holder, who served as the No. 2 official in the Justice Department under President Clinton.

In the past week, Obama aides have asked Senate Republicans whether they would support Holder. In particular, the aides questioned whether Holder's confirmation would be delayed because of his involvement in the 2001 pardon of fugitive Marc Rich by President Bill Clinton.

For all those who thought Obama was a "different kind of politician", seems he's just the same old politico in a new suit...

not that it matters much, but I am in MA too, and i have heard a few times "he's not my president" refering to bush.....but in most cases, it was in playfull banter between friendly co-workers who dissagree politically.

Carter was bashed pretty badly as well and he wasn't anywhere near as bad as Bush.

Well, I suppose if one were so inclined to do so, then, yes.

You're certainly correct that the statement is a factual error, but it still doesn't negate the fact that there are MANY, MANY liberals who have made the statement, and I'm sure many actually believe it to be true, too. :)

Well, I try not to mimic people when I know they are in factually incorrect, but that's a personal choice I guess.

Actually, I have regularly heard the most awful, heinous things about President Bush.

Could you cite some examples of there being "many, many liberals" who've said it?

Most of my evidence involves real life.
