I think there are many moderate Republicans, I just think they are having a harder time getting nominated.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure

~... because true Conservatives don't really like McCain~

True conservatives don't like him and people who vote for him now do so in re: his "notoriety"? What notoriety do you mean? And Palin only backed him this time because he had asked her to be his running mate?

It's amazing to me then that he ended up being who Republicans ran for president.

Yep, I think that some conservatives think their brand of conservatism is the only true conservatism, yet somehow Republicans keep voting for moderate conservatives. Go figure.

Understood.

As an aside, I guess that I could wonder why we weren't hearing such negative things about him from any conservatives just before the election.

I picked up some haagen-daz, want some?

Well you can't say his name isn't out there.. LOL .. so yes, he has notoriety.

By the time I was able to vote in NC, the GOP candidate was sealed. I only voted for the guy because there were NO other Rep candidates that could

Actually, I believe there are different levels within Republican circles as well as Democrat Circles.

There are Republicans who lean more right than others. Some are more Moderate.

There are Democrats who are extremely left, some middle.

You don't agree?

(McCain is a conservative...maybe not conservative enough for some, but certainly a conservative.)

Well, that all depends on what day of the week it is. Some days he's conservative....some days he's a "maverick". You just never know.

Perhaps in November he will actually be supporting Obama.

Yes, I do agree. However, it seems not everyone else does because I've certainly read enough recently about people claiming that some politicians who say they are conservative aren't really conservatives at all.
