Obama alleges McCain is guilty of old political "swift boat" politics:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/10/campaign.wrap/index.html

In the same article, it goes on to say:

Earlier Wednesday, Obama's campaign announced it was launching "Alaska Mythbusters," a group of Alaskans that the campaign says will "set the record straight" about Palin.

Who is trying to "swift boat".

"Your allegations need to be referenced with place and time not just you said it happened. Please provide these facts to go along with your claims.

Because i didn't think of habitat of humanity and the Nobel Prize as embarrassing."

He received the Nobel Peace Prize for something he did 27 years ago, one of the few really good things that happened on his watch.

that is an amazing reply. i know you won't read my response, but others will - and let it contribute to their opinions.

"I have come to the conclusion that dealing with some on these boards is a lot like making an appearance on "The View" where no amount of logic will make any impression on the liberal members (with one exception) there who can best be described with a word beginning with B."

you set a standard for the board by asking for references. yet when the standard is applied to you ... well, it doesn't apply. i'm not sure why providing references is troublesome for you since we all seem to want the "truth." instead you resort to calling the liberal members of this board a name (but very carefully sidestepping TOS). it appears that you have missed the point of these debates: it is not so you will sway one side to your way of thinking. it is to discuss the issues.

"... I don't feel any compultsion to tolerate such a wasted practice in futillity or to engage in such self inflicted aggrevation. To that end I will be hitting that useful ignore posts button. Good Luck"

the ignore button is your privilege. but i find it amusing that at the point you can not defend your position, you "cut and run" so to speak. and in a public manner. with big words. unfortunately, that means you will miss half the logic of the board - sort of like putting half your head in the sand. but i suspect even if you ignore my logic, it will be represented by others with a common POV.

and just to clarify, i did not say he started Habitat for Humanity. however, he has been an active participant and highly visible advocate for the organization from the beginning. from their own website:

http://www.habitat.org/how/default_jcwp.aspx

"As president of the United States, Jimmy Carter was deeply committed to social justice and basic human rights. He and his wife Rosalynn left the White House in search of meaningful ways to contribute in these areas. In addition to promoting peace and human rights through the nonprofit Carter Center in Atlanta, they lead the Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter Project for Habitat for Humanity International one week each year. In 2008, the event – formerly the Jimmy Carter Work Project (JCWP) - was renamed to also recognize Mrs. Carter’s years of dedicated service to help raise awareness and provide simple, decent and affordable housing in partnership with families in need. Please visit the following Web sites for more information about each of the Carter Projects and for information on how you can get involved!"

plus i still respect the opinions of someone who received the Nobel Prize even after 27 years. your inflammatory headline was taken from Fox News - and here is the article which is not so inflammatory.
