Do you think this is true? Do most Americans believe in these things? Do you? Which ones?

A large majority of the American people consistently support the following agenda:

  • Tax the rich and corporations
  • End the wars, bring the troops home, cut military spending
  • Protect the social safety net, strengthen Social Security and improved Medicare for all
  • End corporate welfare for oil companies and other big business interests
  • Transition to a clean energy economy, reverse environmental degradation
  • Protect worker rights including collective bargaining, create jobs and raise wages
  • Get money out of politics

Free Markets: A free market is the economic consequence of personal liberty. The founders believed that personal and economic freedom were indivisible, as do we. Our current government's interference distorts the free market and inhibits the pursuit of individual and economic liberty. Therefore, we support a return to the free market principles on which this nation was founded and oppose government intervention into the operations of private business.

Could have fooled me:

So, you are of the belief that the Tea Party wants all regulation abolished?

I can only go by what the Tea Party itself says they want.

And they don't really say anywhere that they want all regulation abolished. I think you are confusing regulation with over regulation, regulation that is just there for government control and revenue, not to better the situation.

Speaking for myself, as I am not a spokesman for the Tea Party or anyone else, that's what makes sense to me.

get a grip on the whole "insulting" thing because I didn't make that stereotype

Yeah, you did.

I'm afraid you're mistaken...but feel free to prove your accusation by pasting the quote from my post.

And it's always been an issue...women who can't work late or weekends because they have to pick up their kids at daycare...because their kids are sick....

I don't feel the need to try to guess what they "might" have meant since it is pretty clear what they meant from their own platform statements.
