Near-Universal Contraception Coverage Approved

Seems like this would be a good thing. More contraception = less abortion, less people who can't afford - or don't want - babies actually having them.

"Today, in a huge victory for women’s health, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced that most employers will be required to cover contraception in their health plans, along with other preventive services, with no cost-sharing such as co-pays or deductibles. This means that after years of trying to get birth control covered to the same extent that health plans cover Viagra, our country will finally have nearly universal coverage of contraception."

I feel the same way. I was struck when reading it just how it seemed to fit what some people want to have happen in this country.

Atwood's design is genius, she captured the essence of their vision/attitude, and did it 30 years ago.

Speaking for all of society is pretty dangerous thing to say too... But, just so you know, not all pro-lifers are those haters you see outside your clinic.

I understand a lot of people have reservations about abortion in ways I do not. I even get the protesters standing by what they believe, even if I disagree. What I dislike is their belligerence and insults.

I used to be a regular on the abortion board here, going back say... eight years ago. Sheesh, I'm getting old! (I started here 11 years ago, and have hosted a few boards along the way, including the feminism and politics boards.)

This is the second post that seems to care less about women... I think a pregnant woman needs the right medical care and support in a crisis situation, and I'm sorry but that help is not only found at a planned parenthood clinic!

I'm not trying to speak for iluvkrat... but when a position advocates no exceptions, it pretty much is a kiss off to pregnant women, establishing who matters in the care pecking order.

While there are other clinics who do work short of aborting, there are plenty of deceptive ones feeding false information about the choice of abortion.

You know, I'm just kind of at the point where I feel that people like Sebelius should be charged with treason and locked up for the rest of their lives, or executed. She is an enemy of the Constitution and the people of the United States.

"Resist, we much. We must, and we much. About that, be committed."

Well, that's mighty interesting and probably says a lot more than you intend. "Locked up". "Treason". "EXECUTED"?!

Thank you for making clear what we have to fear.

Please explain. I'm not sure what you mean by this.

I don't get this statement, either. I think pregnant women need medical care and support.
