Or as some on the left might claim, is it just sour grapes?

Very good piece by one of Daniel Pearl's parents being as it's the seventh anniversary of his death at the hands of terrorist (excuse me, I mean resistance fighters):

Daniel Pearl and the Normalization of Evil

This week marks the seventh anniversary of the murder of our son, former Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. My wife Ruth and I wonder: Would Danny have believed that today's world emerged after his tragedy?

Personally I'm glad they haven't lost sight of the nature of the enemies we face or the fact that we still face them. I only hope the newest administration hasn't either, if they ever had a real grasp in the first place.

I certainly don't think that. I anticipate it would be a typical left leaning response though after reading the article. Frankly I think he's hit on many key points not that protecting us seems to be be of much real interest to the folks on this board.

i realize that is what you were saying (thus my "wow" as a response)... and i think your opinion of the majority of the left is way off.

what you said is comparable to me saying... the right wants kids to accidentally shoot themselves or their friends/siblings/parents...

divisive. ignorant. and ridiculous.

Clearly you anticipated that response when you wrote that response.

While I disagree with many of Mr. Pearl's interpretations and conclusions, I do clearly see his pain in his writing.

See? I had a feeling you'd disagree with most of what he had to say which is pretty dead on in my view. How nice that you see he's a grieving father. So much easier to dismiss him. I have a feeling he doesn't want your pity---what he wants is for you to hear him.

whoa...first of all, you didnt say the left would 'disagree' you said we would dismiss it as sour grapes... and that didnt happen, so you werent dead on. i'd say you were dead wrong, in fact. and second, why is his opinion anymore valid than anyone else's? i can listen all he wants, but i'm not about to agree with him just because he lost his son.

Which is exactly why I didn't respond to the OP.
