Can we move on to other issues? Or do you think people will still believe that he wasn't born in the US? I can imagine people saying it was forged, or that the POTUS could just have one made up. What do you think?

What's your take on this? It's a segment of one of the links another poster provided, and I'm trying (for real) to understand what it is that you think is going on with this document that isn't explained here?

...They are supposed to be smart enough to understand this layer thing, but not smart enough to realize how a piece of paper copied from a book gets onto the computer?

I did, in a previous post to you. It was obvious.

But they should have EXPLAINED that they pressed the "on" button on the scanner!

now we are supposed to forget that we are talking about the BC but that is what the thread is about. who cares if it isn't or is original it is what it is and it's proof and that is the point. DO you hear yourself sometimes?

So youre gripe is that they didn't personally consult you or anyone else about how they conveyed the fact that he is a citizen? that's what this is about?

Ah, another conspiracy theory. Cue Twilight Zone music, folks. Exactly what does this continued birth certificate stuff solve? Does it fix the deficit? Stop wars? Create jobs? Improve the overall economy? How about in education, or renewable sustainable energy?

I'm pretty sure you'll concede none of those.

Obama is president, like it or not, just as we had GWB, like it or not. As you recall, he had a sneaky track record... but what mattered then was his governance, how he managed the country on his watch. I wish the right would confine its complaints to the issues at hand, and not go chasing after stuff that gives off an odour of racism.

Yesterday was an interesting day for the right, and it did not fare well, at least the opiners. I give the former president and veep credit, they extended congratulations... but the Limbaughs and Becks that so lead the birther charge, those reconstituted big mouths who say hateful things just to build a following... funny, but those folk all blamed Carter for the failed rescue mission, and if - and you know your stance on this, be honest - if anyone blamed Carter or mocked that failure, then with that comes a need to give Obama his due for the success of this mission, end of story. It can't go both ways as these opiners would like everyone to believe. If you dissed one, praise the other.

This country has to move on now. There are legitimate debates to be had on policy...but Obama's birth certificate as an issue should be consigned to those dark danky places were racists perpetually exist.

"So youre gripe is that they didn't personally consult you or anyone else about how they conveyed the fact that he is a citizen? that's what this is about?" No, and I don't know how you could get that idea. I really don't know how else to put it. I'll have to go back in this thread and reread my posts. I think you people are reading way to much into it. Birther, racism, conspiracies... what next, aliens? It is very simply, but everyone seems to want to go straight to complicated. Edit -- It won't let me set the spacing or colors at this time.

I don't know. Why don't you ask the people on the right who are putting forth such nonsense...just like all those things about this current birth certificate that people are simply "wondering" about?

You posted "Don't you get it? They release a document like this, and don't say a word. They could say something to the effect that they had to clean it up, but it's factual."

It was explained (repeatedly), that the document appears the way that it does because of the type of scanning software that was used and because they scanned a copy of the original document, not because it was doctored in some way.
