I tried to read this with an open mind. I really did. The logic doesn't scan, nor does it rhyme, but I kept thinking that if the article would make sense eventually.

Until I got to this sentence:

<>

REALLY, now.

I wish the conservatives would "vet" their spokesmen more carefully.

Am I supposed to take the work of someone at a self-proclaimed conservative "news" source as truth? Because if I want information on Obama and Acorn I'll look at a reliable source. Newsmax is not it.

I love that Obama supporters get blasted from posting articles from the network news, NYT, CNN, WaPo, etc because of the supposed media bias, but McCain people (and really I'm making the assumption you are a McC person - you should wear some blinkies :) can post articles from sites that not only admit to a conservative bias, but are proud of it.

A few of the choicest tidbits from this piece, designed to make people afraid of big, bad, scary Obama

"promotion of socialist class hatred"

"he trained the group’s leaders in the ways of radical, sometimes illegal, confrontational politics."

"ACORN, a group that supplies a large share of the Democratic Party political shock troops responsible for the party’s recapture of Congress in 2006."

"In ACORN, ...tactics designed to overthrow capitalist America with the confrontational-but-compromising tactics of Chicago socialist Saul Alinsky."

It's one thing to be concerned about ethics, and whether Obama did anything wrong in his dealings with Acorn. Whether he is too close to Ayers. But to think that Obama wants to overthrow capitalist America??? Do people really think Obama wants to bring down the United States? And turn it into what?

We (general we) can debate about IDEAS. What direction we want the country to go in. Whether we want to change the healthcare system to cover everyone. Whether we want the Iraq war to end now. But how can you (again, general you) debate someone who thinks the opposition wants to bring down America? It's completely irrational. You cant have a rational debate based on irrational fears.

Sorry hon, but Newsmax is even less reputable than Fox News. At least Fox TRIES to see both sides sometimes.

I will wait patiently while this story is refuted like a previous claim the writer made against Sen. Obama back in January.

Thank you for posting this. I feel that if McCain doesn't win this race it will be because of some underhanded voting. For both sides, I really think the voting process needs to be changed. I can't believe it hasn't been done before now.

There are some minds that aren't going to change. Either way.

I can't believe so many people turn a blind eye to Obama just because he is an articulate speaker. I do not trust this man ONE BIT!

This should be posted on every site possible!

I'm assuming the "minds that can't be changed" includes your own?

No, actually my mind could be changed, I'm not that old of a dog. :-) But when you don't like one candidate and not real fond of the other, well, you pick and choose and
