OOOO, he took money to fund his campaign? What an evil guy, no other politician has ever taken campaign funding from anyone before, ooooooo. And oh my gosh no, say it isn't so, McCain had a friend? Oh well, I'll change my vote right now. Cindy and her dad invested in a shopping mall, oh no, not that!!!
All of that, and McCain still wouldn't try to pull strings for Keating. McCain said he didn't want any favors for Keating, just wanted him treated fairly which is the same he would want for any constituent. He then called a press conference and stood for 90 minutes answering every question that was raised honestly. You've got to love an honest guy.
Obama is not "my buddy" nor is he "that one". if you want to have a discussion with me, drop the snarky comments.
<> then why did he even need a reprimand? why was he even a position to be investigated? do you ignore the facts of the contributions and the trips?
and Obama's statements are lies only because you say so. you can't prove what he did and did not know. but i would be happy to read what ever unbiased source you can provide that proves it.
He needed a reprimand because the Democrat majority on the committee needed to say something, anything to justify their rejection of the recommendation of the special counsel that they appointed to investigate the case.
Sorry, forgot to respond to this part of your reply. Actually, I don't think he did need a reprimand, the ethics committee just needed a republican to draw attention away from it being all democrats. I think McCain would probably say he wished he had stuck to his refusal to go to the meeting and hadn't let himself be persuaded to go. Once there, he did absolutely nothing wrong in that meeting and instead he said not to do Keating any favors just treat him fairly. I don't see what the big deal is about the contributions. People contribute to campaigns all the time, it did not get Keating anything in McCain's case like he had hoped. I would imagine that McCain wishes in hindsight he hadn't taken those trips with Keating but again it got Keating nothing from McCain. McCain has been completely honest about his dealings with Keating.

Then why is it ok for Sen McCain supporters to question Sen Obama's association with Ayers?
