ok, we can dissagree here, because i do....i don't feel comfortable with the majority deciding to penalize the minority (1% as you said)..it just doesn't feel right to me...
we can dissagree, that's fine....i get that you don't think it matters to them...whereas i think that if they earned it, they should keep it...maybe it would matter to them...esp if they plan to pass the money down to thier descendants....

I've seen people called "unworthy", and "lazy", but I haven't seen anyone espouse these positions, have you?
They want so much to BELIEVE that Obama's relationship with Ayers will have more influence on him than McCain's associations and past deeds.
We've been waiting for it to trickle down since Regan..perhaps you can see why we doubt it works.
what about clinton

ok, well that makes sense...
but in turn, wouldn't trickle up be more like returning the money to the original owner?

Networking can help get you a job but it's not going to climb the ladder for you. I think how you treat people, making smart decisions and your work ethic are the important things if getting ahead is your goal. I do understand what you're saying about networking which is different from what I originally thought you meant. I originally thought you were saying that it's impossible to get ahead if you don't have some rich person paving the way for you, that would be wrong. But again, what you start with makes no difference at all.
Dh has recently been saying that he thinks colleges should teach kids how to dress, and eat, general manners before they start interviewing. He came from a background where he didn't learn those things from his parents. His friends and his girlfriend had to teach him those things.

See I would rather teach a man to fish, you would rather buy him a fish. In the long run which one was more helpful? Really it's none of our business what a "wealthy" person does with THEIR money, whether they spend it at the spa or they donate it to a charity. Envy is the green-eyed monster.
