I know it is endlessly brought up how Obama is going to cut taxes for 95% of working families.

<again and try to "prove" to you that I am not making any of this up.
Strange but I thought you were against people at the bottom receiving "extra" "unearned" money from the govenment?
<<And the basis of your disagreement?>>
-i'm a tax and spend liberal :)
mom, I'm not "preaching" anything - merely pointing out a fact of nature.
now 2... that's usually a pejorative applied by the opposition...
What is the real underpinning of your reasoning - seriously - no snarking.

-my reasoning for favoring redistribution of wealth? in all honestly, some of it makes me nervous for reasons that you mentioned. i dont want people becoming "dependent" on govt. but at the same time i think the middle class needs a boost. and i probably would like the idea
So, at the risk of putting words in your mouth, you see this as a "pump priming" exercise - move some money out of investment (by the rich) into consumption (by the poor), thereby jump starting the economy.
The problems I see with that are two-fold:
First, Obama's proposal isn't a one-time thing - it will create another government entitlement that people will become ever more dependent on, and it's not targeted at a one-time stimulus in bad times.
Second, given that so much of what we buy is made in foreign countries, stimulating spending rather than investing, will, to my mind, simply move more money out of the country.
