I know it is endlessly brought up how Obama is going to cut taxes for 95% of working families.

Okay, I remember you are the Libertarian and don't believe in government in general.
I wasn't talking about 401k, my husband's employer opted out of social security back when it was still possible to do so (in the 70s I think, but not sure). He does not pay into social security and he will not be eligible to collect it when he retires. I am strictly talking about the amount equal to the social security tax taken out of your checks. Yes, in the short term, some money has been lost this year, but it will not stay lost. Unless the retirement fund is invested in a very limited scope of stocks, the risk is minimal. Over time, even the losses of the past year will be recouped. I guess it is a question of if you trust the stock market more, or social security more.. personally, I'll go with the stock market any day.

Look at Wall Street over the last several years, that's why!
I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure
When you were talking about people who get EIC. I will go back later when I have fresh batteries for my keyboard and point out what you said. You made it clear people who receive EIC are "undeserving" of your tax dollars and yet my family qualified for and received EIC while we were an active duty family. I got no response from you on that. You then proceeded to talk about "maybe the deal drugs" on how people who are qualifying for EIC but "not working to get better jobs" are surviving on your tax dollars... all in the same line of conversation. Not once did you veer from the Undeserving line of thought. My point Karen is you are lumping all people who qualify for EIC whether they are military families or drug dealers in one nice little package of people you don't see as Deserving enough to be helped by the government. I have to say b/c I have seen it happen.. those who scream loudest against the gov't helping the less fortunate are OFTEN the same ones who scream loudest when they fall on hard times & need help. I see a massive hypocrisy there. You don't want to help people with your tax dollars? fine. But don't you dare tell me my family is Undeserving of help from the gov't simply b/c we qualify for EIC or any other funds for that matter.
