I know it is endlessly brought up how Obama is going to cut taxes for 95% of working families.

What you are arguing for is not everybody paying out more of their own money so I don't see why you even say this. You are arguing for people to be given a chunk of the "wealthy" people's money. Or as Obama says, "spread it around".
<>
What Obama is proposing is "charity". If people in the lower tax bracket can't make ends meet then they might need to take a second job or they might need to go back to school so they can change jobs or just look for a different job. It is not the responsibility of the "wealthy" to give them charity. Nobody "deserves" anything.
<>
What we were discussing was whether or not the "wealthy" should have their taxes increased to 40% so that others can receive a welfare check in the mail. If the taxes of the "wealthy" don't go up they are keeping their own money. There's nothing to "pay back". They earned it, they keep it, they decide how to spend it. It's simple.
If you feel strongly about giving charity to the people who make less than you (there's always someone worse off) you are free to send extra money to the IRS, since you're a proponent of everyone paying more that is.
<their wealth because they don't need it.
You asked how people with a family to support would have the "luxury" of quitting job after job.
"Well, the hedge fund manager pays a lower tax rate than the plumber and it can be as much as half the tax rate.
"It is right to be contented with what we have, but never with what we are."
Because you are being mislead when you keep quoting these figures the conservative think tanks post because you are only looking at one side of the equation.

We wouldn't even be needing to have this debate if the wealth gap was not so wide and the economy in such bad shape.
<one side of the equation.
