First of all...it is about damned time.

Query? How will this affect the US now? How will this affect the political climate?

Bush GAVE up on finding ObL.

"Resist, we much. We must, and we much. About that, be committed."

To All: For those who seem to think that Obama dilly dallied about making a decision to raid the compound, I'd like to remind you that there was no guarantee that bin Laden was there. That was the story from the beginning and this article reminds us of that today. http://www.cnn.com/2011/POLITICS/05/07/bin.laden.donilon/index.html?hpt=T1

I'm glad we have a president who takes the time to look at all the evidence, especially when he's got to make the decision to send our men into grave danger, and especially when sending our men into a country where we aren't supposed to be, possibly starting up another war based on our actions. Some people may have the nerve to make a split second decision, but frankly, based on the other things those same people believe (all the conspiracy theories that have no basis in fact), I don't think much of their analytical skills.

Hmmmm... never heard that Carter was criticised for a failed rescue attempt?

This was Obama's idea. He was told that they did not have 100% confidence bin Laden was there. Further, he took heat during the campaign for saying he would go into Pakistan to get him - the right excoriated him for saying this. Go find the video of debates with McCain, its out there.

He authorised a mission within the territory of an ally, chose not to share information with that ally, and ordered the mission to proceed, and what the rules of engagement would be. He did a whole lot more than say 'okay'.

And really, how about with the economy? You say he is responsible,

Uh oh...you're using logic...and facts....I'm guessing you're not going to be understood by anyone who buys into the most recent teabag denial/conspiracy narrative...

In Bush's opinion, a government surplus means that it's taxing the people too much, and so he cut taxes.
