http://thinkprogress.org/2008/10/23/palin-abortion-clinic-bombers/

"Q: Is an abortion clinic bomber a terrorist, under this definition, governor?

PALIN: (Sigh). There’s no question that Bill Ayers via his own admittance was one who sought to destroy our U.S. Capitol and our Pentagon. That is a domestic terrorist. There’s no question there. Now, others who would want to engage in harming innocent Americans or facilities that uh, it would be unacceptable. I don’t know if you’re going to use the word terrorist there."

(Video included)

UGH UGH UGH. There are no words for the disgust I have for this woman. Anyone want to explain to me how clinic bombing ISN'T terrorism? Is this supposed to be her pandering to her "base"?

BTW, terrorist/terrorism:
"is violence against civilians to achieve political or ideological objectives by creating fear..."
www.wikipedia.odjechane.net/en/wiki/Terrorism.html

"is defined by the US Department of Defense as "the unlawful use of -- or threatened use of -- force or violence against individuals or ..."
www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/teach/alqaeda/glossary.html

webster dictionnary
"ter·ror·ism
Pronunciation: \ˈter-ər-ˌi-zəm\
Function: noun
Date: 1795
: the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion"

UGH.

I don't see calling Sarah Palin "ignorant" any different than calling Barack Obama a "socialist" or a "terrorist" or a "Muslim." Like PP said, it's more of a description, even if it's an inaccurate one.

But of course, I'm not a CL. I imagine you could email them to clarify TOS rules.

I think the use of the word ignorant is fine, imo, when applied to a candidate or a person on this board if it is being used properly rather than generally. What I mean is, just saying to someone, "You are so ignorant!" seems rude and offensive however, using

"I am wondering why you are questioning her calling Gov Palin ignorant when the tag line of you signature is "

REPUBLICAN...Because everyone can't be on Welfare"

There was a previous post that gave a perfect example of Palin's ignorance. Calling her "ignorant" doesn't mean that she is ignorant in every single fact. But she certainly was ignorant when it came to her discussion of autism research.

I personally do not know anyone on welfare. That doesn't mean that nobody is on welfare because I don't personally know of anyone who is.

I respect your right to consider her in any manner you wish.

Palin is also ignorant in knowing what the word terrorism means, since she doesn't believe that people who bomb abortion clinics are terrorists or should be called terrorists.

I posted a link to the full video. The original post here did not include the full clip with Palin's complete response.

I actually know of two friends of mine that are Republican and have accepted WIC handouts, food stamps, etc.
