CNN's Campbell Brown talks with a panel about Gov. Palin's selection as Sen. McCain's running mate and if it hurts the GOP.

I wouldn't say that she's a danger to America but she certainly seems to be a danger to McCain's campaign. In many ways she has helped the ticket but overall I think she may

When her likeability was so overwhelming, the "skeery" factor had to be invoked and it's taken on a life of its own.

American's new math:
60% of Americans pay taxes; 5% of Americans pay nearly 90% of the taxes collected; but one presidential candidate has gotten Americans to believe he's going to cut taxes for 95% of Americans (and doesn't mention he's not going to renew the current tax cuts set to expire after the next president takes office).

Hi and welcome! I haven't seen you around before. :-) I wanted to comment on something I read in your post.

<<(and doesn't mention he's not going to renew the current tax cuts set to expire after the next president takes office).>>

I just wanted to point out that Obama has indeed talked about this.

Btw, good luck conceiving! I'll send some baby vibes your way. :-)

Thanks, Chrissy. :-)

Both statements can't be true -- cutting taxes for 95% of Americans AND letting current tax cuts expire.

What likeability?

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.

Here's my post from yesterday that answered a similar question (this was in response to the thread titled "Also Wondering another Tax Question)

We can debate how "bright" she is and not get anywhere on that since that's all subjective and subject to what sound bytes people have seen/heard. What policies are you aware of that are "awful"?

To me, a presidential candidacy that talks of programs that grow the government at a time when the opposite needs to be done -- that is awful.

To me, a presidential candidacy that hasn't urged personal responsibility in a time when not only national spending is out of control, but so is personal spending -- that is awful.

To me, a presidential candidacy that sells itself as a Savior to the people -- that is awful.

To me, a presidential candidacy that tries to sell the American public that corporations "don't pay enough tax" and things of that nature -- that is awful. There are too many people that don't understand that corporations don't truly pay any tax, only individuals do so if businesses are taxed more, we will pay more for the products and services since their tax liabilities are embedded in the prices (or some business will cease to exist or exist with less personnel). We work for these businesses. Why are businesses even taxes at all? It's an indirect way to tax US!

The federal government's role was supposed to be far smaller by design than it is today. To me, anyone that thinks the government should be positioning itself as the redistributor of wealth, stimulus checks (I was against the Bush stimulus checks), and that sort of thing has lost sight of what the true role of the federal government should be and has their hands dirty in the growing of the government. We only need to study what's happened in Europe to understand the patterns that happen with the kind of spending Barack Obama is promising even if it does sound good to "stick it to the other guy" sorta thing.

What happened in Europe?

Seriously? Are you familiar with the socialist and communist movements in Europe over time? There's quite a bit of information about that, way to much to post here. Very unstable, people's uprisings, etc. It sounds good to think the government will take care of you, but that's not really what ends up happening.
