Well good luck to you and her and her family and your community in getting something changed. I'm sure it will take time but it will be worth it in the long run!

((wolves aren't just furry puppies that happen to live in the wild.))

I can understand that, but the way that the "vermin" are eliminated says a lot about the Alaskan gov't and Sarah's lack of sensitivity to animals. There are more humane ways to kill wolves with less suffering. The Alaskan "butchers" are enjoying the killing and that's what is sickening to me.

What way in kiling them would you suggest?

Would anyone even be complaining if we were talking about rats or squirrels? I doubt it.

And you base your statement that they enjoy "butchering" the wolves on what exactly? Each and every time they take a wolf they try to make the kill as clean as possible, just like every hunter does with every animal. They have been wanting to use helicopters for the hunts instead because it allows them more accuracy and reduces chances of wounding animals, but unfortunately, the cost of the helicopters is proving to be prohibitive.

I'm against animal suffering as well, I make my husband cut off the heads of trout and salmon we catch as soon as we get them on land because I hate for them to suffer with hooks in their mouths. But, that doesn't mean I'm going to vilify a hunter because he missed a shot and an animal ended up suffering. Just because an animal endured pain doesn't mean the hunter intended to cause suffering.
