imonmyway,

what I am referring to is that the humans have as much right to hunt the wolves as the wolves have to hunt other species.

I wasn't defending terrorism - I was just wondering where you draw the line when you add the statement that people were using the 'brains God gave them' seems that particular line of thought could apply to a lot of stupid decisions that people make - kind of like the 'guns don't kill people, people kill people' argument. Considering that is is usually an attempt to hold the guns blameless. As if so much of the gun violence would still happen without guns.

<"could the wolves not be relocated">

That's what I was wondering. Why can't they be shot with TRANQUILIZER GUNS and relocated to one of the areas where they are on the endangered species list, like Colorado? There's plenty of wilderness in Colorado to support them.

My whole thing with this aerial hunting of wolves is that it shows Palin's character. No one has mentioned yet that she established a $150 reward for each wolf killed (by producing a leg??? I mean, come on, people, you just have to admit this is sick!). Do we want another aggressive, ruthless, cold-hearted, gun-toting person running the country? I mean - Bush blew up frogs when he was a kid, and look where we are now!

How can anyone deny the barbaric nature of that video with the wolf dying in agony, riddled with buckshot? Even if you're not an animal lover, doesn't it tear at your heart? I can't understand how anyone with a heart - especially us moms - isn't just sickened by that!

Actually, the guns are blameless.

knight, why should the state (or federal) government spend the money to tranquilize the wolves, ship them and relocate them?

I agree but the potential for deadly violence is increased if you have a gun in your possession - it is easier to impulsively kill someone, it is harder to escape from the violence and it increases the chance of an innocent bystander being killed as well.

The state is spending money to fly the planes and shoot them, and then dispose of the bodies (plane fuel, time, payment for the gunners, etc). What's the difference? They could probably get a cooperative effort with the wildlife management/biology departments in the receiving states.

I don't think lack of funding is ever an excuse for cruelty.
