I sincerely cannot believe that John McCain picked Palin. I sincerely cannot believe that, given her family's issues (new high needs baby, daughter that is pregnant, under ethics investigation) that she accepted. She should show some intelligence and step down.

I predict there is a change to the ticket at the RNC.

Personally, as a mother, I agree with you - I can't imagine ever taking such a high profile position under similar circumstances. But then being a mother was my career goal - I only got a degree and began teaching after my children were in school. I just have to wonder about her priorities - this seems to be a time to circle the wagons not run a political campaign. Doesn't change my vote since I wasn't going to vote for her anyway, but I did just lose a bit of motherly respect for her. She had a high power job already and certainly could have waited a few more years to advance her political ambitions, by all accounts she was already an up and coming star, so why not decline now and put her family first. I really feel for her daughter, pregnant and facing a marriage at 17 - very tough road.

I don't dislike Palin at all.

I'm hoping that it is not an issue for voters, and that her daughter will be afforded respect and privacy.

I read he wanted Lieberman, the "party" wanted Romney and so Palin was the result of a little fight between the McCain camp and the godfathers of the repub. party...

How else can you explain the choice????

The result of a fight or a spur of the moment rebellion? Either way does not give me comfort that he could one day have control of that little red button.
