~As I recall I was just giving an example of some people who feel they deserve help.

LOL! Not at all. I know what I can handle and adjusted my life accordingly. I'm sure you did the same.

I have confidence that the Governor did the same for her family. For you to imply you are somehow better than she is because your choice is different tells me a lot.

And quite frankly I believe if you felt you could handle both well you likely would have made that choice. You felt...if I recall that one or the other would suffer and in my own personal case, I felt the same. I admit, I am not superwoman that doesn't mean I don't believe in superwoman! I don't have to put her down just because I'm not her. I find that implication rude or rather childish.

***maybe they don't have to drive 100 miles a day round trip to work like I do!!!!! *** Last I checked that was a choice too. If your small town has such great jobs why do you drive 50 miles to one. You chose to live where you do, to make that commute for whatever reason would make a person want to spend that much time in a car, but now you have to live with the consequences. Either pony up for the gas and quit complaining or move. My DH and I chose to live close in, before gas prices went up, for environmental reasons, and for quality of life reasons. Neither of us wanted to spend that much time in the car or give up that much time with the kids. But please quit griping about your 100 mile roundtrip, you made that choice and now you are living with the consequences. Just like the people who chose to have a lot of children and have to buy a large vehicle. All choices have consequences. THE rest of your post leaves my jaw on the floor... "worthless people" that just breaks my heart. No one is worthless, just because you don't like the choices they make doesn't make them worthless. Guess what I have worked hard my whole life, I have 2 degrees, my DH has 3, and we make a good living. We have never used any of the services I would very much like for others with the exception of the educational services. We got grants for the first few years of our education. That is something I strongly support, giving people the chance to get a degree. Its just a fundamental difference of opinion, I have a compassion and empathy for others that is stronger than my bottom line. I am really sick of the anti-compassionate conservatives.

Yes but they have full time staff who spend all day doing just that! Or perhaps not in McCain's case as the rumor had started in Alaska well before the nomination!

I was thinking of John Couey. That pathetic worthless sap...kidnapping that baby from her bed and then raping her before burying her alive......

but I still have compassion for him. :-)
