Thanks for your response! I hope for your sake if she does get in office she will work for us but she has already voted against a program in Alaska that cut off funding for pregnant teens! I too don't believe the govt should always be involved in all aspects of our lives but some people actually need that help sometime just to get going! I just feel with this Palin lady she is just too extreme and feels her way is the only way! That's just not right! But anyway I just ask you to really do research on her policies, if you do I'm almost sure you will reconsider! She standing with McCain is also a stand against women getting equal pay as men! It makes me so sad that some women actually believe that every woman that is in office is looking for other women! That is not always the case! Please do your research you will be a little disappointed!
I don't buy the 'it's a time buyer' argument when it would take such a long time to see any results. One of the current proposals in Delaware is to put wind turbines in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Delaware and Maryland. Not sure if this won't have environmental implications that we aren't aware of yet either - I have read that they are very loud. They will be about a mile off the coast and therefore should not be visible from the beach due to the curvature of the earth, I don't think we will actually hear them, but we have a lot of marine wildlife in that area, especially dolphins and I don't know if the sound will travel into the ocean or not. Anyway it is an option and I believe the benefit will be sooner than if we started trying to drill there. Won't run cars, but will provide electricity and that would reduce the need for fossil fuels to produce the electricity currently used in Delaware so it would free up some oil for other uses.
This is one example currently being investigated in my little corner of the world. I just think we need to broaden the scope of our alternatives. Ultimately oil is a finite resource. We will have to look for a renewable resource or something like solar/wind power so why not put more effort into that now? If we could reduce how much oil we use to produce electricity we would have a lot less demand for oil - and we already have some knowledge of how to use solar energy. Some of the newer schools and houses are using - oh I forget the name right now but drilling into the ground under a building and installing pipes, I think the pipes are filled with water and the homes and schools are heated and cooled that way. Sorry I am having a block on what it is called just now.
The point is there are many ways to reduce our dependence on oil, many ways we could start using right now that don't involve drilling. I just wonder if that isn't something more permanent as far as a solution?
You're right that is crazy for them to focus on her choices as a mother! That is between she and her family! But it is most definitely fair to question whether she is truthful with all she says she has done! Please do your research, you will be very disappointed! I had no intentions of voting for her but I did want to respect her as a woman and support her because she has accomplished so much, but after her speech, I am so disappointed! Obama actually stood up for her and she just totally demeaned him unneccessarily! I'm very disappointed! I believe you can disagree with someone amicable! Well anyway as I said please weigh what she stands for! Everyone is not always out for the good of other women! She has voted against programs for females and does not support equal pay for women! I truly believe that a vote for her will set women back! Thanks for your response! Oh and by the way I don't think Obama is perfect by any means but I do believe he truly wants what is best for this country trying to make it a better place for yours and my children~
Just do your research! You go on this site go to other's that have newspaper article from Alaska! If I truly knew how to send links I would send it to you but I am almost computer iliterate! I really am not trying to be against her, I admire what she does but I don't think she has the best interest of other women! Please just do your own research!
Yes she has the right to be whatever she wants to be and that is good and I think every other woman should have that choice too! Remember everyone is not always out for the good of all women! Please do your research! If I knew how to send links I would send it to you but I am basically computer iliterate! But please think long and hard! I truly believe that voting for Palin will set us back as women! She does not even support equal pay for women, now you know that is really bad! Just please research and you will see!
But remember it is Bush's economic policy that has everyone loosing their jobs, homes in foreclosure and the largest deficit we have ever had and don't forget he authorized a war that should have never been waged! Congress has proposed plenty of bills and they have been stopped before they even got to the President! You see how bad it is, do you really believe it will get better by continuing to do what we are doing? No the Dems are not perfect but at least they will give back more to the middle class! Just think about it and do your research please! Our futures depend on it! If we continue in the path we are going at now then we will be just like a 3rd world country!
Believe me I definitely believe in protecting life too! What we really need to focus on is decreasing the amount of teen/unwanted pregnancies! And if a woman's right to choose taken away, there will be more death and sickness because things will be done illegally! This Palin lady doesn't even believe in abortion even in case of rape or incest! That is her choice please don't demean another person if they choose something different! That is so wrong! I do believe in life truly but I also believe in free-will! I too am a Christian! Very much so! God has never forced any of us to choose Him he has given us all a choice! Now if GOD Himself doesn't force us, then who do we as mere mortals think we are to judge someone that may choose differently?

They get tax incentives which by the way you should check into who voted for them and who voted against.
